Your child’s reaction to different experiences (often referred to as challenging behaviour) is often just their way of communicating their feelings.  As a parent, especially if you are exhausted and stressed by a system that doesn’t work (or has a two year wait list), it can be a struggle.  This download offers lots of practical ideas on how to monitor their reactions so you can hopefully start to see a pattern.  It also offers a place to make a note of those techniques others have suggested, and a place to say what you have tried (and if that worked).  It gives you an annual tracker to see at a glance if there is a recognisable cycle, but also offers space for more detailed records showing what happened before, during and after the incident.  Often this allows us to identify triggers which, in turn, helps us to come up with strategies and techniques to try, along with things to avoid or put in place.
